Privacy policy
This policy explains how the Flexpatch Android app ("Flexpatch", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Flexpatch is made by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon.
In short
- Flexpatch reads your route and earnings from the Amazon Flex app, and only from that app. It never reads or stores customer names.
- Your routes, addresses, earnings and history are stored on your phone only.
- To optimise a route, the stops' map coordinates, time windows and package counts are sent to our server. No addresses or names are sent, and the server doesn't store the request.
- No ads. We don't sell your data. No account is needed.
1. Accessibility service
Flexpatch uses Android's Accessibility service to read information from the Amazon Flex app. Flexpatch is not an accessibility tool. Before you can turn the service on, the app shows you a screen that explains what it reads and asks you to tap Agree. If you choose Not now, you can review it again later.
Which app it reads
The service is limited to the Amazon Flex app (package com.amazon.flex.rabbit). It does not read any other app.
What it reads
- Your itinerary: stop numbers, addresses, package counts, delivery time windows, stop status (for example to do, delivered or attempted), labels shown on a stop, and sort codes.
- Your earnings: one row per block, with the date, block times, amount and payment status.
- Which Flex screen is open, so the app knows where it is.
What it does not read or keep
- Customer and recipient names are never read or stored. Flexpatch blanks those fields when it reads the screen.
- Your own name, shown in Flex's menu, is also blanked and not stored.
- Flexpatch does not read passwords or password fields.
What it does in the Flex app
Flexpatch only moves around and reads inside Flex. It opens Flex's menu, opens the itinerary or earnings screen, scrolls through the list, and, when you tap Open in Flex, scrolls to that stop and opens it. It never taps controls that deliver or complete a stop, accept or forfeit blocks, or cash out.
It acts only when you tap a button in Flexpatch, or through an automatic rule that you switched on yourself, such as "re-read my itinerary every 30 seconds while Flex is open". Automatic rules are off until you turn them on. While a rule is active, Flexpatch shows a notification with a Stop button.
Why
To show your route in Flexpatch, plan a stop order, keep stop statuses up to date while you drive, and track your earnings. Nothing read through the Accessibility service is used for advertising, and it is not sold or shared except as described in section 3.
Turning it off
You can turn the service off at any time in Android's Settings › Accessibility. Flexpatch then stops reading Flex. Data already captured stays on your phone until you delete it.
2. Information stored on your phone
These are kept only on your phone, in the app's private storage:
- captured routes: stops, addresses, package counts, time windows, statuses and the order you drove them in;
- map coordinates for addresses, including corrections you make;
- earnings rows;
- route history and savings totals;
- saved end points (such as Home) and settings, such as your vehicle's MPG and fuel price.
We don't receive a copy of any of this. Flexpatch turns off Android's app-data backup, so this data is not copied to your Google account backup.
3. Information that leaves your phone
Information leaves your phone only in the cases below.
| Sent to | What and why |
|---|---|
| Flexpatch route server at flexpatch.app (operated by us) |
When you optimise or re-optimise a route (Premium), the app sends the stops' latitude and longitude, their time windows and package counts, your start point (your current location or a place you chose), your chosen end point's coordinates, and any stops you pinned in place. The server works out the stop order and sends it back. No addresses, customer names or package details are sent. Requests are not stored. Our logs keep only counts and timings, such as how many stops a request had and how long it took. To check that you have Premium, each request includes an anonymous app user ID created by RevenueCat (not your name or email) Requests are also rate-limited per ID to prevent abuse. The server asks RevenueCat whether that ID has an active subscription. |
| Android's Geocoder (a Google service built into Android) | Stop addresses, and anything you type into the place search, are looked up to find their map coordinates. Google handles these lookups under the Google Privacy Policy. |
| OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org) | Map images are downloaded from OpenFreeMap. Like any website, it receives your IP address and sees which map area is being loaded. No route or stop details are sent to it. |
| Google Play and RevenueCat | If you start a trial or subscribe, Google Play handles the payment and RevenueCat records the subscription status against the anonymous app user ID. We never see your card details. See the Google Privacy Policy and the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. |
| Your navigation app (Google Maps or Waze, your choice) | When you tap Navigate, Flexpatch passes that stop's location to the navigation app you picked, so it can give directions. That app handles it under its own privacy policy. |
If you use Export, Flexpatch creates a file and you choose where it goes. We don't receive it.
4. Location
Flexpatch asks for your location so it can start a route from where you are and, if you turn it on, detect when you arrive at your next stop. Your location is not sent anywhere, except as the start point of a route in an optimisation request to our server, as described above. It is not stored on the server and is not used for advertising. You can deny or remove location permission in Android's settings. You can then still pick a start point by hand.
5. Other permissions
- Display over other apps: shows the driving-mode bubble over Flex and your navigation app. It is requested the first time you start a Premium route.
- Notifications: show that an auto-capture rule or driving mode is running, with a Stop button, and your route progress.
- Battery optimisation exemption: keeps capture and driving mode running reliably while the screen is off or another app is open.
- Internet: used for the connections listed in section 3.
6. How we use information
We use information only to run the app's features: capturing your route and earnings, finding addresses on the map, optimising the stop order, guiding you through the route, showing your earnings and history, and checking your subscription. We don't build profiles, show ads or use your data to train AI models.
7. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. Flexpatch contains no ads. Information goes to the services in section 3 only so they can do the job described there. We may disclose information if the law requires it, but our server holds no routes, addresses or earnings to disclose.
8. Retention
- On your phone: kept until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
- On our server: optimisation requests are processed and then discarded. Logs keep only counts and timings. To avoid checking your subscription on every request, the server briefly remembers whether an app user ID has Premium (for about an hour).
- Third parties: Google (Geocoder, Play), RevenueCat and OpenFreeMap keep data under their own policies. Google Play and RevenueCat keep purchase records as long as needed for billing and legal reasons.
9. Your choices, export and deletion
- Export: Settings › Export saves your routes and earnings as JSON or CSV files.
- Delete: Settings › Delete all data erases everything Flexpatch has stored on your phone.
- Uninstall: removing the app removes all of its data from your phone.
- Stop reading Flex: turn off the Accessibility service, or turn off any automatic rule. While a rule is running, use the Stop button in the notification.
- Location: allow or remove it in Android's settings.
Because our server doesn't keep your routes or personal details, there is nothing on it to delete. If you have questions, or want us to ask RevenueCat to delete the subscription record for your anonymous app user ID, email support@flexpatch.app.
Depending on your state, you may have legal rights to know about, access, correct or delete personal information. Email us to use them. We won't treat you differently for doing so.
10. Security
All connections between the app and our server use HTTPS (encrypted TLS). On your phone, Flexpatch's data sits in the app's private storage, which other apps can't read under Android's normal security. Your phone's screen lock helps protect it. No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to a minimum.
11. Children
Flexpatch is not directed at anyone under 18. Amazon Flex drivers must be adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change what Flexpatch collects or how it's used, we will update this page and its effective date, and tell you in the app before the change applies if it affects you materially.
